America's Award-Winning Beaches
Florida Beaches
Our beaches are award-winning!
The beaches of St. Petersburg and Clearwater feature soft, white sand, tempting blue-green water and are consistently ranked among the finest in the nation. And millions of TripAdvisor vacationers throughout the world agree it's the best. St. Pete Beach has been ranked by TripAdvisor as the No. 1 beach destination in the United States - and the No. 5 ranking in the world - taking top votes in the 2012 Travelers' Choice Award.
In 2011, former Governor Charlie Crist officially deemed St. Pete Beach as the “Sunset Capital of Florida”. North Beach in Fort De Soto Park was named the Top Beach in America for 2008 and 2009 by TripAdvisor, while coastal geologist Stephen Leatherman, a.k.a. “Dr. Beach,” ranked it America’s No. 1 Beach out of more than 650 major recreational beaches across the country in 2005 using more than 50 criteria. In 2009, Caladesi Island State Park a few miles north of TradeWinds won that top honor, beating out beaches in Hawaii and California.
And to top it off St. Petersburg, Florida holds the Guinness world record for having the most consecutive days of sunshine - 768 days in a row!
Whether you’re looking for a fun-filled day building sandcastles and splashing in the surf, or a peaceful stroll along the shore at sunset, TradeWinds Island Resorts make it possible. Discover all that's new at our hotels and reconnect with the No. 1 beach destination in the country!
